Coming up with goals was sort of difficult for me. In the past I had made goals of how many things I wanted to sell per month and most of the time it wouldn't turn out to well. So I thought I would save myself the disappointment and the wondering of why people don't want to purchase my things.
This year I figured I would just try to keep the ball rolling and try to improve what I've built up AngelasPaperArt to be. I have put a lot of sweat and tears into this shop in the 6 months that it's been open and maybe a little blood from blisters lol. But this year I want to learn more about SEO and things of that nature to help increase the awareness of my store. I think that if I continue what I have been doing, but with more knowledge about things, it would help me a lot.
I also want to blog more and increase my number of followers. I would like to work on better descriptions for my items...any suggestions? I want to list regularly so that my sections are a little more full and I have more options available for customers.
This upcoming year I would love to be one of the top paper bead sellers on etsy, so I'm hoping the whole paper bead thing isn't a trend. I love making them and everyone who has bought them from me has loved them so far. I also want to push myself in the quilling department and try to have new and exciting quilled things.
I've learned that you can't make people buy your things. But you have to try hard and promote yourself and your product and hope that they will catch on and realize that you have something special to offer. This years goals are sort of more about pushing myself in a way and becoming better at what I do.
I wish everyone good luck this upcoming year and hope everyone has a happy and safe new years and hopefully everyone will help push each other this year. And remind each other that we all made these goals to try and stick to them and help each other achieve them.
And I want to say thank you to all of those who helped AngelasPaperArt become what it did this year. I appreciate the support from everyone.
Good luck with your goals, we'll see them unfold with you!

Yeah, that's why I avoid goals that depend on the # of sales too :) Good luck with your paper beads. I think that if it looks beautiful and classy, it won't be a trend.
ReplyDeleteAngela, you already know you are one of my favorite people on Etsy. Wishing you a successful 2011 in everything you set out to do!!!
ReplyDeleteTogether, we can help each other achieve at least some of the goals, I think. Us Chicago girls have to stick together and learn to write more fun descriptions.
ReplyDeleteGreat goals, Angela! I have some ideas for you that I think will give you a corner on the paper bead maket and will convo you with those soon.

ReplyDeleteAngela, I think you brought up a wonderful point. so many of our goals, personal and professional, are based on numbers, when maybe they should be based on bettering our selves!!
